After a not-so-happy run of his earlier film Aadhi, actor Vijay took his time to choose the correct subject for his next project. For over four months he kept away from the arc lights. Now, the cat is out of the bag. Vijay is to act in Pokkiri with Asin under actor, dancer and film choreographer Prabhu Deva, who takes up the megaphone to direct a Tamil film for the first time.
Speaking on the project, Vijay said, "I wanted to dance to a song choreographed by him, but I am now acting in a full length feature film under his direction. I know that it is going to be a good team and I look forward to the experience." Prabhu Deva said, "I have made some small changes [in the story] to bring out Vijay's acting talents.
